Lol, I found my old administrator avatar for AniShack.net and Platinum Zone! Still on the net after all these years. A wonder when you search your screen names.
 All I did to this was expose the lines (touch up, and change/add a few lines), gray scale, and then recolor in a paint sort of fashion. I called them the "Naruto Eye Shot", and did it for a few friends. And yes, that is my eye, and beanie.  I just googled MY username and not a lot came up. That's the way I like it.
