I wanted to share this, though because I respect my TV Shack elders, I will not post the link. The search engine is called Mugurdy, and is developed by a couple of developers from Ireland. I developed something relatively the same as this for AniShack, for the Anime Search Engine I hosted. However, images had to be added by hand, which was quite annoying. This search engine utilizes a module that takes snapshots of web addresses. Something I've really wanted to try using.
![]() I hope they stick with it. I would love to see them do something more appealing. A better layout of the information displayed. Smaller thumbnails, that maybe when you hover over, show a DIV popup with the larger snapshot. A more spacious design overall would be better, with some CSS styling. What do you all think? I like it, and am using it for the most part, it has helped me find things with ease. -------------------- |

You... You don't see the point of this? Lol. Sorry but that is humorous as it is most evident what the point is. You see what you are going to before you actually decide to waste your time going there.
I am easily able to prune out malware websites, websites with false descriptions; meaning the websites that will display a description for whatever you search, to fool you into navigating to their website for a series of beautiful trojans and malware to be downloaded to your system (if you lack the necessary security). Next you are easily able to spot out the websites that have the information/downloads you are looking for without having to check out the webpage after webpage. Everything that is on Google, is on Mugurdy. As Mugurdy utilizes Google Search, with added features. -------------------- |

Some of the thumbnails load a bit slow, but otherwise I like it. Those snapshots give a much better impression of what to expect from a website, than just a short description. It's not just that you might avoid malware infected sites, but you may also find interesting stuff, you wouldn't usually click on.
I just added it to my search bar. -------------------- ![]() |

Uhmm. No, not in the least bit. Google Chrome displays your history with a snapshot... This is a Search Engine.

That looks very nice indeed.
Quite like the Firefox plug-in; you hover the mouse over the link (when you type something into Google, for example, and it shows results related to your search) and it displays a picture of the website. Good idea, I like it a lot. |

It's nice. I always found Google to be the best search engine (but I do get stuck in my ways some times) something like this but with
"Smaller thumbnails, that maybe when you hover over, show a DIV popup with the larger snapshot." Piggy backed on the Google search engine. As in you type something into there website, it send the search to Google, and shows you the appropriate thumbnails. With today's rapidly expanding information highways theirs little reason this wouldn't be feasible. Only one draw back (for me a big one) no spell check. But in one word Nice! |

It displays Google information as is, up to date. At least from my comparisons.

Just tried it and the results were different (or at least in a different order) but the first 2 pages were the same. It may use the same surch algorithm but google uses cookies.

Well lets be honest, your pretty dumb to click on something that doesn't look professional. I for one don't do this as I always look at the url, description and name. Don't download anything unless i know it is secure. You also must be dizzy for clicking the wrong link, but that's my opinion.

It doesn't matter how secure you think it is. It's about what is really there. If you followed your own example, you wouldn't be using TV Shack as the banner advertisements contain exploits that try to install malware. TV Shack it's self is labeled malicious on search engines, if you had the proper security.
